I am soooooo excited for Ashley, she and her sister titleholder Lauren Grissom were big favourites of mine in 2006 so her win is just that extra bit sweeter :) I correctly predicted after prelims that Ashley had it in the bag and I was stoked to come away with a "Road To" point in both divisions! Note to state directs, more webcasts please! They're fun to watch and help me get points road ;)

As I've alluded to earlier and which will be the subject of its own post later I am strongly predicting the Teen class of 2006 to be equal to 2002 in terms of Miss USA success. Samantha Casey & Morgan Woolard started the charge last year and with girls like Ashley and Julianna White crowned already this year, Katie Blair competing in California & Brittany Sharp rumoured to be competing in Georgia the 2006 class is going to be strong at Miss USA 2011!
Some trivia (because that's why I do this ;) )... this is the first year of a blonde/blonde duo for Tennessee since 1994! Coincidentally the blonde Teen that year was Allison Alderson DeMarcus, later Miss Tennessee USA 2002 & fabulous pageant host.
Ashley is the fifth Miss Tennessee Teen USA to win the Miss title and the first since Rachel Smith won and then won Miss USA in 2007. Ashley, Rachel & Lynette Cole all won their Miss titles five years after Teen. Ashley's third runner-up at Miss Tennessee Teen USA 2006 was a very youthful Tucker Perry (Miss Tennessee USA 2009).
